Kenneth Shinozuka is a young innovator and entrepreneur in the field of healthcare technology. He is the Founder and CEO of SensaRx, LLC, a New York-based startup that developed the SafeWander wearable sensor products for bed-wandering detection and fall prevention.12 These products were inspired by his personal experience caring for his grandfather, who had Alzheimer's disease.2
Currently, Shinozuka is pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, where he began his studies in October 2020.1 He graduated from Harvard University, where he studied computational neuroscience and researched Alzheimer's Disease pathology.2
At the age of 15, Shinozuka invented a device to alert caregivers when Alzheimer's patients wander off, demonstrating his early commitment to addressing healthcare challenges.3 His work has gained recognition, including a TED Talk where he discussed his invention.4
Shinozuka's interests extend beyond healthcare technology. He aspires to study consciousness from an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating neuroscience, philosophy, physics, and spirituality. He has interned at the Qualia Research Institute and maintains a blog called Blank Horizons where he writes about consciousness.2
His innovative work has earned him several accolades, including the Ideagen Changing the World Award from the EU delegation to the United Nations.5
