Led the development and execution of ONE’s video strategy to engage new and existing ONE supporters through compelling video storytelling. This included filming and editing content, as well as, managing the in-house video production team and outside freelancers, all of whom spanned across North America, Europe, and Africa.

Managed equipment and production budgets. Developed relationships with external content creators, production companies, and agencies to collaborate on various video productions.

Tracked and analyzed video performance data to increase audience engagement and push ONE's mission forward.

The ONE Campaign

Video Production Manager

Created video content for ONE's social channels. Types of videos ranged from animations and TikTok explainers to short-form documentaries and platform-specific advocacy videos. Continuously worked with multiple sectors of the organization to creatively expand our outreach and advocacy worldwide.

Video Producer

Film, produce, direct and edit a variety of films, including weddings, brand promotion, events, travel, and mini-documentaries for clients across the United States. Prices are negotiated for each specific project. Personally market the freelance business via social media and clientele networking.

Freelance Filmmaker

Create multi-facet communication programs for environmental advocacy groups, which include social media strategy, promotional videos, website design, blog posts and fundraising campaigns. Travelled independently through Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia.

Organizations involved: Fundación E2E (Medellin, Colombia), Centro de Innovación Científica Amazónica (Puerto Maldonado, Peru), Varsana Eco-yoga Aldea (Granada, Colombia)

Environmental Communications Consultant 

• Worked as community reporter for The Republic's West Valley team and covered Peoria, Az. with
  an emphasis on government accountability and public spending.     
• Produced multiple stories each week for a daily circulation of more than 275,000. Presented 
  content through a variety of mediums, including text, video, photos, and infographics.
• Selected out of thousands of applicants for the high-demand, 10-week fellowship program of 
  reporting and weekly training sessions. Katy was extended for another two months due to output of  
  high-quality stories.

News Reporter - Pulliam Fellow

• Reported for multiple new sources, such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Atlanta Homes.
• Researched information and data for stories; helped find and interview sources.
• Managed parts of the Q&A on the News section of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
• Fact checked stories and information in consumer magazines.
• Wrote and published public interest, business, and other news stories on tight deadlines.

Freelance Reporting Intern

• Guided guests down the class IIIV rapids of the French Broad River.
• Developed continuous communication with guests while teaching performing whitewater safety and rescue.
• Paddled ahead of the trip and took professional pictures of the rafts through the rapids.
• Personally edited, presented, and distributed photos to guests.

• Investigated, wrote, and published weekly news stories about the students and faculty of UGA.
• Publication recognized as the largest college newspaper in Georgia and the 10th largest newspaper in the state.

• Planned, organized, and led other UGA students on trips in outdoor recreation.
• Taught basic survival and safety skills for a variety of activities, including camping, hiking, caving, climbing, and kayaking.
