Katy Montgomery is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of experience in graduate higher education, specializing in career development, program management, and student-facing services. She has a global perspective with work experience spanning across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Katy is known for her passion for fostering connections and communities while adapting to the challenges of a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world. She thrives on taking action and surmounting obstacles to drive impactful outcomes. Katy is dedicated to advancing the mission of any organization she is associated with, whether as an employee or a volunteer.
Katy's expertise lies in various areas including curriculum design, career coaching, change management, employer relations, strategic planning, higher education management/administration, and leadership development. Her academic journey includes a diverse set of qualifications such as an Executive Master in Change Business from INSEAD, a JD in Law from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans. She laid the foundation for her educational pursuits at the Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science and Tupelo High School.
Throughout her career, Katy has held impactful roles in esteemed organizations such as The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, where she served as an Executive Coach/Faculty, and INSEAD, where she was an Associate Dean for Degree Programmes and later the Global Director for the Career Development Centre. Her professional journey also includes positions at Anthropologie as a Part-Time Home Stylist and a significant role as a Board Member at the Graduate Management Admission CouncilTM (GMACTM). Additionally, she has contributed her expertise at Georgetown University Law Center and Major, Lindsey & Africa, among others.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Katy nurtures an interest in interior design, which she actively explores through her part-time role at Anthropologie. This aspect of her life reflects her creativity and aesthetic sensibilities, complementing her strategic and analytical skills in the professional realm.
