Katie Sullivan

Katie Sullivan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She joined UCCS in 2017 and has a background in teaching and research that spans over two decades, including a previous position as an Associate Professor at Lund University in Sweden.

Education and Research Focus

Katie holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of Utah, along with a Master's degree from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor's degree from Augustana College. Her research interests include strategic and organizational communication, branding in professional settings, and the intersections of gender, embodiment, and diversity within organizations. She has published work in notable academic journals such as Gender, Work & Organization and Management Communication Quarterly .12

Professional Experience

Before her current role, Katie served as an Assistant Professor at UCCS and has also worked as a postdoctoral research fellow. Her experience includes roles in mediation and conflict resolution, as well as marketing, showcasing her diverse expertise in communication and management .2

Outside of her academic work, Katie enjoys parenting, traveling, and maintaining her historic home with her partner .1
