Katie Hendrickson

Katie Hendrickson is a prominent figure in state and federal computer science education policy, known for her contributions to the annual State of Computer Science Education report focusing on K-12 policy and implementation.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education from Ohio University, along with a Master of Education (MEd) in Cultural Studies in Education and a BS in Integrated Mathematics Education from the same institution. Additionally, she has undertaken studies at New York University.

Katie has held various roles in several esteemed organizations throughout her career. She has served as the President of the Code.org Advocacy Coalition and previously held the position of Director of State Government Affairs at Code.org. Her expertise extends to roles such as Computer Science & Mathematics Education Expert and Advocacy and Policy Manager within the organization.

Prior to her leadership roles, Katie Hendrickson was an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the Triangle Coalition for STEM Education. Her early career includes teaching positions at institutions like Athens Middle School, the Young Women's Summer Institute, and Alexander Middle School. She also contributed as an Instructor at Ohio University and a Graduate Assistant at the Allen Student Help Center. Furthermore, Katie was a Student Teacher at Alexander Road High School and Wright State University Discovery Camp.
