Katie Edmiston is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience across various sectors including arts and cultural, community organizations, government, peak bodies, universities, and businesses.

Her strong suit lies in fostering community engagement, connectivity, capacity building, and rejuvenating local communities through the realms of arts and culture.

Katie pursued her academic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Creative Industries from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and undertook further studies in Arts with an honors project focused on Creative Placemaking at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Additionally, she attained a Certificate in Workplace Training and Assessment from TAFE.

Throughout her career, Katie has held significant roles such as Manager - Local Government Coordination at State Library of Queensland, Manager Regional Arts Services at Regional Arts Services Network, Director/Owner at True North Creative and Community Consultants, and Sessional Academic at QUT.

Moreover, Katie has also contributed her expertise in various leadership positions including Strategic Policy - Manager, Manager Partnerships, and Principal Arts Development Officer at Arts Queensland. She extended her impact by serving as (Acting) Principal Advisor in Economic & Regional Development at the Local Government Association of Queensland.

Her vast experience includes roles like Manager - Statewide Community Development and Recovery Program, Senior Policy Officer - Youth & Community Development at the Local Government Association of Queensland, and Community and Cultural Development Coordinator at Noosa Shire Council.
