Jennifer Panlilio

Jennifer Panlilio is a rising star in the field of marine biology and biological oceanography. With degrees from both the University of Miami and Stanford University, she currently pursues a doctorate in biology and is an active member of the joint program between the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and MIT. Her research focuses on harmful algal blooms and their effects on neural development in zebrafish, using advanced techniques to track neurons and record neural activity in living larvae.

Before beginning her doctoral studies, Jennifer dedicated her time to various educational and environmental projects. She worked as a research technician at the University of Miami, as a middle school math teacher at Cape Eleuthera Foundation, and as a teaching fellow and program lead at Citizen Schools. She also volunteered with the Redwood Environmental Academy of Leadership and conducted field research as an intern with the El Nido Foundation.

With her interdisciplinary background and diverse experience, Jennifer is well-equipped to tackle complex challenges in marine science and beyond. Her passion for education and community engagement also make her a valuable asset to any team or organization focused on advancing scientific knowledge and promoting environmental stewardship.
