Kathy Gates is a former non-profit marketing professional who has transitioned into a full-time traveler, writer and English language teacher. With an extensive background in marketing for the arts sector, Gates worked as the Marketing and Development Manager for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Marketing Coordinator for the Australian Opera. She also completed a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management at the University of Technology, Sydney with a focus on database marketing for the arts. Gates now enjoys teaching English language courses while traveling and documenting her journeys on her blog. Her travels have taken her to many countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
