Kathryn Mathers

Kathryn Mathers is a highly experienced and skilled Associate Director with an impressive background in the higher education and cultural industries. She has worked in the US, UK, and South Africa throughout her career, demonstrating her versatility and adaptability. Her expertise lies in nonprofit and cultural organizations, program evaluation, qualitative research, lecturing, public speaking, and international education.

Mathers holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Archaeology, Sociology, and African Studies from the University of Cape Town. Her academic achievements showcase her passion for education, research, and cultural diversity.

Currently, Mathers works as Associate Professor of the Practice at International Comparative Studies at Duke University. Previously, she has held various positions such as Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke University, Adjunct Lecturer at George Washington University, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pretoria, among others. She has also worked as a researcher at Art & Society, lecturer at Unisa, evaluator at Project Literacy, and South African Museums Association.
