Kathleen Parkes is a seasoned communications professional with a strong background in psychology and public health. Her areas of expertise and interest revolve around communication and behavioral economics, social innovation, health disparities, mental health, and wellbeing. She is passionate about developing affordable and innovative technologies to enhance the quality of life on a global scale.
Kathleen pursued her education with a Master of Science in Public Health, Social Determinants of Health from the prestigious Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UC San Diego and has academic roots at Castilleja School.
In her professional journey, Kathleen has held various key roles in renowned organizations. She served as the Executive and Internal Communications Lead at Google Cloud, Communications and Public Affairs Manager at Verily Life Sciences, and Assistant to the Head of Communications at Verily. She also gained experience as a Usability Research Intern at CommunicateHealth, Inc., Administrative Assistant at Google & YouTube, and Project Coordinator for Phantom Limb Pain Clinical Research at VA San Diego Healthcare System. Additionally, she shared her knowledge as a GRE Teacher at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions.
