Kate Tice

Kate Tice is an Emmy Award-winning rocket launch broadcast host and Senior Manager of Quality Systems Engineering at SpaceX.12 She leads a team of engineers focused on ensuring rocket and spacecraft reliability, and is responsible for SpaceX's AS9100 certification and quality management system.1

Tice graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering and minors in Engineering Leadership Development and Spanish.13 Her career at SpaceX includes roles such as Senior Program Reliability Engineer, where she worked with US Government customers like NASA and the Space Force to ensure mission safety and hardware reliability.1

As a launch broadcast host, Tice has presented many notable SpaceX missions, including the world's first reflight of an orbital class rocket and the first successful landing of a 1st Stage rocket at sea.1 She strives to explain rocket science in an engaging and accessible manner for all viewers.1

Tice has received several accolades, including:

• An Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Program in 2019 for the NASA SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-1 mission broadcast12
• NASA's Silver Achievement Medal for her work on the Commercial Crew Program1

• The Graduate of the Last Decade Award from Penn State's Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering department in 20221

Outside of work, Tice is an outdoor enthusiast and volunteers with Apex Protection Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wolves and wolfdogs.3
