Kate Murphy

Kate Murphy is a highly accomplished development economist with extensive experience in the financial industry. Her training and education have given her a deep understanding of economic growth and financial inclusion, with a focus on investments in West Africa, specifically Ghana and Liberia. Kate's previous work experience includes investment banking divisions of BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole, where she worked on leveraged finance transactions and structuring, respectively. Kate also worked for JP Morgan's high-yield fixed income research department early in her career. She holds a Masters in International and Development Economics from Yale, and her graduate thesis focused on the regulatory frameworks of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community and the West African Economic and Monetary Union. Kate received her Bachelor's of Arts Cum Laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she majored in Political Science and completed minors in Economics and Religion. Her particular focus on economic systems in Central and West Africa has taken her to Cameroon for further study.
