Kate Marr
Executive Director at Community Legal Aid SoCal
Kate Marr is the Executive Director of Community Legal Aid SoCal, a position she has held since January 9, 2017.1 She has dedicated her entire 23-year career to legal services, with a particular focus on working with survivors of domestic violence.34
Marr has over 16 years of experience litigating and advising clients at several legal services programs in southern California, including Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Public Law Center, and Inland Counties Services.1 She has handled numerous domestic violence, family law, and immigration cases throughout her career.1
In addition to her role as Executive Director, Marr serves on the executive board of the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Council and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Access to Justice Committee.1 She has been recognized for her work, receiving the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Council's Domestic Violence Advocacy Award and the Soroptimist International of Long Beach's Women of Distinction Award in the area of human rights.1
Marr received her JD from the University of Colorado School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College.12
