Karl-Th. Renius

Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Karl-Th. Renius was born in 1938 on the Renius Farm 'Albertshof' in Oranienburg, Germany. He obtained his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from TH Braunschweig in 1965 and went on to work as a design engineer for Deutz tractors at KHD Head Quarters Köln. Following this, he served as an assistant at the Institute of Agricultural Machinery at TU Braunschweig from 1966 to 1973, engaging in teaching, research, and industry projects. In 1973, he completed his Ph.D. in Hydraulics at TH Braunschweig under Matthies/Vogelpohl. Dr. Renius then held managerial roles at Deutz tractors and KHD Development Center Köln-Porz before becoming a full Professor and Head of the Institute of Agricultural Machinery at TUM, Technical University Munich from 1982 to 2003. Post-retirement in 2003, he was appointed as the Honorary Head of the section 'Mobile Machinery' at the Institute of Automotive Engineering, TU Munich.
