Karan Saxena is a dedicated Graduate Student at Carnegie Mellon University's Language Technologies Institute, under the guidance of Dr. Taylor Berg Kirkpatrick. His primary interests lie in Applied Machine Learning, particularly in the realm of Natural Language Processing utilizing Knowledge Graphs and Side Information. Karan finds the intricate nature of language captivating, with a keen focus on decoding emotions and relationships embedded within.
In the Summer of 2019, Karan interned with Apple's Siri Natural Language Modeling Team, concentrating on Entity Recognition and Linking. Prior to his current academic pursuit, he invested 19 months as a Research Assistant at the Machine and Language Learning (MALL) Lab within the Department of Computational and Data Sciences at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, benefiting from the mentorship of Dr. Partha Talukdar.
