Kara Townsend

Kara Osborne Townsend is a dedicated professional with a strong background in healthcare policy and management.

She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from the University of Kentucky and a Master's degree in Public Health, Policy, and Management from The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health.

Kara has held key roles in various reputable organizations, currently serving as the Director of Policy and Federal Affairs at HCA Healthcare.

Prior to her current position, she served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Her experience also includes working as Health Professional Staff in the Majority Health Policy Office at the U.S. Senate, as part of the Political Team at American Crossroads, and as a Staff Assistant to U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
