Justin Carone
Justin Carone is a skilled PhD student in sociology, with diverse educational and professional experiences in social sciences, media and technology support. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Society from Drexel University and found interest in studying practices of education and labor under late capitalism. Now, as an Associate Instructor at the University of California, Davis, Justin draws on the resources of social theory, historical sociology, and sociology of knowledge to critically analyze how the production and measurement of "reason" construct identity and limit possibilities for more democratic dialogical practices. He is interested in exploring alternative conceptions of "reason" as practiced by today's students, educators, and workers, and whether these conceptions can reorient us toward more democratic distributions of authority.
