James R. Rieger is the owner of Rieger Report® LLC, a company he founded after retiring from S&P Dow Jones Indices in 2018. With over 37 years of experience in the bond market, Rieger provides market commentary, insights, and consulting services related to fixed income markets through his firm. His expertise includes fixed income analytics, indexing, benchmarking, and distressed bond valuations, particularly in the municipal bond sector.1

Prior to launching the Rieger Report, Rieger served as the Managing Director and Global Head of Fixed Income Indices at S&P, where he was instrumental in developing a suite of global debt market indices. His leadership in this area contributed to the creation of investable index products across 12 countries, managing over $46 billion in assets. Rieger has also been active in presenting on bond markets at industry events and has been featured as a subject matter expert in media outlets like CNBC and Bloomberg News.1

In addition to his work at Rieger Report, Rieger is a lecturer at Clemson University, where he teaches courses in investments and financial management.1
