Professor Electrical & Renewable Energy Technology at Indian Hills Community College
Jp Jones, also known as John-Paul “Jp” Jones, is a professor of Electrical & Renewable Energy Technology at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. He has over 30 years of experience as a Licensed Master Electrician and Electrical Engineering Technologist. Since 2008, he has been instrumental in developing and leading the college's Electrical & Renewable Energy Program (TERET.AAS), which was approved by the State of Iowa Electrical Examining Board in 2011. This program provides comprehensive training in electrical and energy technologies and incorporates real-world project experiences for students across a 10-county region.12
In addition to his academic role, Jp Jones is actively involved in workforce development and serves on the boards of the Iowa Association for Energy Efficiency and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association. He is also a member of the Iowa Energy Workforce Consortium. Outside of his professional career, he is an avid outdoorsman and a musician, leading the John-Paul Jones Group for over 25 years to support causes such as veteran organizations, food banks, and homeless shelters.1
