    Joshua Schachter is an American entrepreneur best known for creating the social bookmarking service Delicious and the web service GeoURL. He was born on January 1, 1974, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Schachter launched Delicious in 2003, which became popular for its tagging system that allowed users to organize and share links. The service was acquired by Yahoo! in 2005 for an estimated $30 million, of which Schachter received about $15 million.12

    In addition to Delicious, Schachter co-created Memepool, a website that collected interesting web links, and developed GeoURL, a service that mapped websites based on geographic location. His innovative work has earned him recognition, including being named one of the top 35 innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review in 2006. After leaving Yahoo! in 2008, he worked at Google until 2010.12
