Joseph Shapira

Dr. Joseph Shapira is the president of Comm&Sens, a strategic consulting company focusing on wireless communications, remote sensing, and imaging systems. He also serves as a visiting Chair Professor at IIT Madras.

With a background in electrical engineering, Dr. Shapira has had a successful career marked by his roles as the founder, CEO, and chairman of Celletra Ltd., a company specializing in cellular enhancement solutions.

His contributions to the CDMA cellular standard development during his tenure at Qualcomm and his role as the President of Qualcomm Israel have been significant.

Dr. Shapira's academic achievements include a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Electrophysics from the Polytechnic University.

He has been recognized with various awards, including best paper awards from IEEE AP-S and IETE, as well as the Bergman award for his contributions to Electromagnetics in Israel.

As a Life Fellow of the IEEE and a former Vice President of URSI, Dr. Shapira is actively involved in shaping the field of radio sciences.
