Joris Bannenberg

Joris Bannenberg is a medical doctor with a PhD in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam. He has extensive experience in the medical device sector, particularly in clinical trials and regulatory affairs. He is the Consultant and Founder of Avania, a full-service contract research organization (CRO) that specializes in managing clinical studies for medical devices, in vitro diagnostics (IVDs), biologics, and combination products.1

Throughout his career, Dr. Bannenberg has held several prominent positions, including being the Chief Medical Officer and founder of Factory-CRO Group, which he built into a leading European CRO focused on medical devices. He has also worked as a Manager of Clinical Trials at Genzyme and served as a Staff Researcher at the University of Amsterdam.12

In addition to his roles in various organizations, Dr. Bannenberg is known for his commitment to improving patient care through innovative medical solutions and has been involved in numerous clinical trials over his 30-year career.13
