Highlights
I am so insanely proud of our team at upGrowth Commerce! 🎉 Just heard from TikTok Shop Global Key Accounts (4bn and above) that one of the brands we work with is the fastest to hit 7 figs in North America so far... 🚀
Let me break down HOW we did it... (you may want to SAVE + Bookmark this one) 📌
First of all… we’ve had more at bats ⚾️ than most everyone else in the TikTok shop space, working with over 50 brands since January (when I saw what a massive opportunity Social Commerce was going to be for brands).
And we haven’t hit home runs for everyone… but I can tell you that we have learned an insane amount along the way! 💡
Here’s our approach at upGrowth Commerce:
-
Get good content through vetted TikTok creators - I’m not talking affiliates yet - I’m talking creators (this is an art) 🎨 We also have an advantage that we have a pool of owned creators that love us and the brands we work with (this is a cheat code of working with an agency like ours - I cannot stress enough how important this is!)
-
Use that content to run ads (yes THIS IS A PERFORMANCE CHANNEL!)
--->I recommend ABO with one ad per ad set.
-
Pick your top 3 SKUs (under $100 AOV - I used to $50... but I'm seeing this push-up)
-
Get your first 1k sales on your hero SKU
---> this is going to come from your internal network and Ads - NOT AFFILIATES at first - you need to social proof to start working with GREAT affiliates - I will DIE on this hill!
-
Get your first 100 reviews on your hero SKU (enough said)
-
Run an open collab (only approve high GMV merchants)
-
Run targeted collabs and go after ultra-high GMV creators (this is way easier once you have a high GMV SKU and why it's imperative you follow this plan)
-
Gather more content
---> Repurpose as much of this content into owned content as you can (video review mashups etc)
- Run spark ads from best-performing content and creators
--->this is where you're going to want to watch the percentage that you are paying to affiliates and make sure you can afford ads on top of the affiliate fees (PS it's usually still super profitable at scale)
-
Use the best ads on Meta (after you get permission of course)
-
Rinse and repeat on YouTube shopping (coming soon)
-
Run more ads 😆
-
Talk to Michael True and Use a tool like Prescient AI to measure THE INSANE HALO effect of all of the creator content out on the web.
