Jonathan Newhouse is a prominent media executive, currently serving as the Chairman of Condé Nast International. Career Overview
Newhouse began his career at Advance Publications, the parent company of Condé Nast, where he worked as a newspaper reporter and editor. In 1980, he transitioned to Condé Nast, taking on various roles including Executive Vice President of The New Yorker and publisher of Details. By the end of 1989, he was appointed to lead Condé Nast International, which at that time had a limited presence in major Western European markets.
Under his leadership, Condé Nast International expanded dramatically. The number of magazines grew from 30 to approximately 125, and the company entered numerous new markets across Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Notably, Newhouse was instrumental in launching Vogue in several countries including China, India, and Russia. Newhouse resides in London and is married to Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, a creative director. He is related to Samuel I. Newhouse Jr., whose family founded Advance Publications.12
