Having joined West Wing Writers in 2012, Jonas Kieffer previously held a significant role in the Obama administration as the Director of Speechwriting at the United States Department of Transportation, where he oversaw a team of writers as a key aide to Secretary Ray LaHood.
Prior to his tenure in the government, Jonas served as a senior executive communications advisor and chief speechwriter to Dr. Judith Rodin, the president of the Rockefeller Foundation. He also lent his writing expertise as the speechwriter for New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine.
Starting his career in grassroots politics, Jonas engaged in organizing activities on various political campaigns at local, statewide, and presidential levels. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University and currently resides in New York City with his wife and their dog on the Upper West Side.
