Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering
Jon C. Liebman is a Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined the faculty in 1972 as a Professor of Environmental Engineering and served as Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 1978 to 1984.12 Liebman retired in 1996 and was conferred the status of Professor Emeritus.2

Liebman received his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1956. After serving in the military, he earned his MS (1963) and PhD (1965) in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.1 Before joining the University of Illinois, he was a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University from 1965 to 1972.1
