John Wardell
John Wardell is a highly accomplished psychiatrist who has had extensive experience working in numerous healthcare facilities in Australia and New Zealand. Wardell has a Medical degree from the University of Dundee and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry with Microbiology from the University of St. Andrews, as well as a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. Wardell's expertise and skills have been honed by his experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist (Staff Specialist) at NSW Health, Director Acute Inpatient Service / Mental Health Act Governance at St Vincent's Health Australia, and Acting Clinical Director of Northern NSW Local Health District. He is currently the Director of Medical Services at the Northern NSW Local Health District.
Wardell has a depth of experience and a variety of positions in the field of psychiatry. He has been the Chair of the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Deputy Clinical Director, Psychological Trauma Recovery Service at Austin Health, Clinical specialist in military psychiatry at Phoenix Australia, Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and SO1 Psychiatry at the Directorate of Mental Health at the Australian Department of Defence. Additionally, Wardell has been a psychaitric registrar at various health district boards in New Zealand and Australia. His experience and expertise in psychology and mental health issues have been vast.
