John Stuelpnagel

John Stuelpnagel is a prominent entrepreneur and business leader in the genomics industry. He is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Fabric Genomics, a company focused on analytical genome interpretation, which he helped establish in 2009. The company specializes in developing informatics systems designed to interpret human genome sequences for both research and clinical applications.14

Stuelpnagel has an extensive background in genomics, having co-founded Illumina, Inc. in 1998, where he served as the first CEO and later as COO. His leadership was pivotal in transforming Illumina into a global leader in next-generation sequencing technology during his tenure there.23 After leaving Illumina, he co-founded Ariosa Diagnostics, where he served as Executive Chairman until its acquisition by Roche in 2015.23
