    Aeronomer, optical physicist, entrepreneur and now Chief Scientist

    John Noto is an experienced optical scientist and engineer with over 25 years of expertise in remote sensing.1 He currently serves as the Chief Scientist at Atmospheric & Space Technology Research Associates (ASTRA).25 Noto has been awarded six patents for his work in optical science and engineering.1

    In December 2021, Noto joined Astra (www.astraspace.net) as their Chief Scientist.5 He has been involved in various space-related projects, including:

    1. Developing a commercially available software-defined GPS receiver for space weather monitoring.3
