John Heubusch is the former Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, a position he held from May 2009 until his retirement on December 31, 2021. Under his leadership, the Foundation focused on preserving and promoting the legacy of President Ronald Reagan through various initiatives, including the operation of the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, and the Reagan Institute in Washington, D.C..123
Heubusch's career spans various roles in both the private sector and public service. Before joining the Reagan Foundation, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Avalon Capital Group and was the Chief Administrative Officer at Gateway, Inc. Additionally, he held significant positions such as the Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 1995-1996 election cycle and Vice President of Communications for the American Red Cross.124
Heubusch began his career during the Reagan Administration, working on Capitol Hill and serving as Chief of Staff for Representative Denny Smith. He also worked closely with Elizabeth Dole when she was Secretary of Labor.23 He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and English from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University.23
