John Chipouras

John Chipouras is currently the General Manager (GM) at MapQuest, a position he has held since September 2019 as part of System1, a consumer internet and applications company. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day product management, operations, and profit and loss (P&L) for MapQuest, which is known for its mapping and location services. System1 is recognized as one of the largest purchasers of digital advertising globally, focusing on user acquisition through advanced data science and strategic partnerships.1

Prior to his role at System1, Chipouras held several positions at MapQuest and Verizon, including Principal Product Manager for Location Services at Verizon after MapQuest was acquired in 2017. His extensive experience in product management spans various roles where he has driven product development and customer engagement strategies, particularly in mobile applications and location-based services.1

Chipouras has a background in entrepreneurship and finance, having studied at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career also includes founding and leading a mobile payment platform called TabSprint, where he managed product development and team operations.1
