John Bernhelm is a seasoned technical designer with a remarkable experience of over ten years in the gaming industry. He graduated with a BS in Computational Media, Game Design from Georgia Institute of Technology and is passionate about exploring and building upon novel links between gameplay, character interaction, and storytelling.
Throughout his career, he has crafted virtual reality, traditional video games, and interactive stories from a player-first mentality. His specialties range from rapid prototyping, IP & World Development, VR and Game Interaction, Mechanics, Combat, and Narrative Design, to AI Behavior and Mission Scripting. John is known for his extensive expertise in Unreal Engine 4 (Blueprint), Unity (C#), Lua, C++, Lisp, Maya, Photoshop, Substance Painter, and his impeccable attention to detail.
John has worked for several noteworthy organizations such as Facebook, Triumphant Games, Wevr, Oculus VR, Telltale Games, Double Fine Productions, Naughty Dog, Visceral Games, EALA, Southern Regional Education Board, and has left an indelible mark on each of them. His passion for Sea Creature Appreciation and Karaoke-ing Hits of the 80s is contagious.
