John Beahan is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California, with over 10 years of experience providing direct services to individuals dealing with mental health issues, chronic pain, chronic disease, and substance abuse. Dr. Beahan is passionate about integrating mental health services into the primary care setting and has conducted research with primary care providers on substance abuse and drug diversion issues. In addition, he has helped develop treatment protocols for chronic pain in a public health setting as part of the Pain Pathways Group at the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Dr. Beahan's specialties include harm reduction, substance abuse/dependency treatment, trauma, health psychology, and chronic pain management. He studied music therapy, music composition, and clinical psychology at Naropa University, University of California Santa Cruz, and California Institute of Integral Studies, respectively.

Currently, Dr. Beahan is in private practice in San Francisco, providing psychotherapy services in affiliation with Psychiatric Alternative and Wellness Center. He has also worked as an instructor at UC Berkeley Extension, a behavioral health specialist at UCSF HIV/AIDS Division at San Francisco General Hospital, mental health and harm reduction therapist at Tenderloin Health, and more.
