Grin Lord

Dr. Grin Lord is a renowned licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in leveraging technology to improve mental wellness. She co-founded Empathy Rocks, a startup aimed at bringing empathy to artificial intelligence, after serving as Clinical Product Psychologist at Youper, Chief Clinical Officer at Lyssn.io, and Vice President of Clinical Innovation at Lyssn. Dr. Lord is an expert in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and her research focuses on the intersection of AI and empathy, posttraumatic stress, substance abuse, and family psychology. As Director of the Center for Relational and Family Therapy (CRAFT), Dr. Lord provides psychotherapy for families in Washington state.

In academia, Dr. Lord has been a clinician-researcher at the University of Washington since 2007 and is an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University and Antioch University Seattle, where she supervises students. She is also a MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers) member and has trained professionals in motivational interviewing since 2011.

Dr. Lord founded Therapists in Tech, an organization promoting the use of technology in mental health care, and was the former founder of Lord Psychological Services, PLLC. She has also formerly held positions as Affiliate Research Faculty at the University of Washington, Psychological Assistant at Monterey County, Adjunct Research Associate at the RAND Corporation, and Behavioral Health Specialist-Research at Seattle Children's.
