    Jim Cheng is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in government contracting, angel investing, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.

    He serves as a Senior Advisor at Pamunkey Indian Enterprises - Professional Services, working closely with the Pamunkey Indian Tribe to develop their government contracting initiatives.

    Jim was appointed as the Secretary of Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia from 2010 to 2014, overseeing various areas such as economic development, job creation, tourism, and industry regulation.

    With a strong educational foundation including a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, and a BS from Old Dominion University, Jim offers a unique blend of legal, business, and leadership expertise.

    He co-founded CAV Angels, an angel investment club for UVA Alumni, and continues to work with private equity and angel investment groups while teaching entrepreneurship at the UVA School of Engineering.

    In addition to his advisory roles with PIE-PS and angel investing, Jim is actively involved in various corporate, community, and nonprofit boards, including organizations like TomTomFestival, Sorensen Institute, UVA Health Foundation, PFP Cyber, and ImpactMakers.

    Prior to his current roles, Jim was the President of Totus Lighting Solutions, a startup focused on green energy LED lighting, and owned an IT services firm specializing in government contracting called CHM.

    Jim's professional journey also includes experience in technology startups, mentoring, and serving as a Senior Vice President at Eastern Computers, Inc. (ECI).
