Jiayao Yu

Jiayao (Mao) Yu is a digital technology designer with a passion for innovation and a proactive approach to problem-solving. With a strong background in Human-Computer Interaction and Design, Jiayao leverages a diverse skill set to research, prototype, and effectively communicate ideas within interdisciplinary teams.

Jiayao pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Information Engineering from the Communication University of China, further advancing to earn a Master of Science degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Design from both Aalto University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Additionally, Jiayao delved into Innovation & Entrepreneurship during studies at EIT Digital Academy, honing a well-rounded understanding of technology, design, and business.

Throughout Jiayao's career, a journey that included roles at leading organizations such as Ericsson R&D, Semcon, and Callstats.io, there has been a meaningful contribution to various projects. Jiayao's experiences span from data engineering and analysis to UX design consultancy, showcasing adaptability and expertise across different domains.

In past roles, Jiayao has excelled as a data engineer at Ericsson R&D, a marketing communications officer at EIT Digital Alumni, a UX design consultant at Semcon, and a data analyst at Ericsson. Noteworthy experiences also include serving as a UI & UX designer at Callstats.io and contributing as a master thesis worker at Tobii Dynavox.

Furthermore, Jiayao has actively engaged in research and user interface projects, demonstrating a commitment to academia and practical application. Jiayao's tenure as a research assistant at Aalto University and a user research intern at Beijing Zhishi Yinxiang Co., Ltd., highlights a conscientious approach to understanding user needs and creating impactful digital solutions.
