Jiangbo Dang

Jiangbo Dang is currently the Director/Senior Manager of Data Science and AI Technology at Novartis, a position he has held since August 2020. In this role, he leads efforts in data science and AI enablement, focusing on the architecture, deployment, and operationalization of end-to-end AI and machine learning pipelines. He is also involved in establishing practices for large language models (LLMOps) and advancing natural language processing (NLP) with generative AI technologies.1

Prior to his role at Novartis, Dang worked at several notable organizations:

• Argo AI (May 2018 - August 2020): He built big data platforms capable of processing hundreds of terabytes of data daily from autonomous vehicles.

• Credit Suisse (September 2017 - May 2018): As Vice President, he worked on big data solutions, optimizing data models and ETL pipelines for improved performance.

• Bridgewater Associates (January 2016 - July 2017): He served as a Semantic Technology Lead, focusing on knowledge graphs and data science applications.

• Bloomberg LP (May 2015 - December 2015): He developed big data streaming and transformation pipelines.

• Siemens Corporate Research, Inc. (September 2006 - May 2015): As a Staff Scientist and R&D Manager, he focused on AI solutions for healthcare and diagnostics, leading to multiple patents and research publications.1

Dang holds a PhD from the University of South Carolina-Columbia and a BS from the University of Science and Technology of China.1
