Jessyca Murphy

Jessyca Murphy is a visual artist known for her work with textile installations and soft sculptures, delving into themes of gender identity and mental illness. She advocates for art as a fundamental aspect of the healing process and a universal human right.

With a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from The New School and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Film Studies from Western Washington University, Jessyca's academic background complements her artistic endeavors.

Throughout her career, Jessyca has held various roles, including as the Executive Director at Make.Shift Art Space, Technical Writer & Copyeditor in a freelance capacity, Executive Assistant at Path with Art, Administrative Manager at Bellingham-Whatcom County Commission on Sexual & Domestic Violence, and Gallery Director at Make.Shift Art Space.

Her experience also extends to academia, having served as an Adjunct Professor at Edmonds Community College and a Teaching Assistant at Parsons School for Design. Jessyca has contributed to organizations such as DVSAS, the University of Washington's Indigenous Wellness Resource Institute, and Buffalo Exchange.
