Jess Weems

Jess Weems is a science and coding teacher at Sage Ridge School, an educational institution in Nevada. She has an educational background in resource economics, plant and soil science, and secondary science education. Jess is a skilled painter and specializes in encaustic works, with a particular interest in map and topographical imagery. She offers encaustic classes in Reno and other areas in the United States. Jess has proficiency in grant writing, outdoor leadership, classroom technology, community service-learning, international service-learning, character education, and schoolyard ecology research.

Jess Weems has broad professional experience in teaching science, managing youth programs, and owning businesses. She worked as a 6th-grade science teacher at West Springfield Middle School and later taught 8th-grade science. She is the former co-owner of b&j greene and founded Seek Your Course to promote artist-led courses in western Massachusetts. Jess has designed programs and curriculum for university and middle school students and managed a student-run food cooperative. She is also an experienced youth director and designer, having worked at First Congregational Church of Hadley and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, respectively.
