Jerry Brand
Founder at Zupa
Jerry Brand is a prominent entrepreneur known for founding Zupa Group, a company focused on providing technology solutions primarily for the hospitality sector. His entrepreneurial journey began in 1988 with the establishment of Russell & Brand, a contract catering firm that he successfully grew and later sold to Marriott Management Services in 1996. Following this, he launched several ventures, including a chain of restaurants called Orange Balloon, which he sold in 1999.12
In 2004, Brand returned to the contract catering industry by founding Host Management. He later shifted his focus to technology with Caternet, an e-procurement platform for the hospitality sector, which was rebranded as Zupa in 2017. Under his leadership, Zupa aimed to innovate within the tech space related to hospitality services.123
Brand was also committed to supporting other entrepreneurs through his charity, The Brand Foundation, established in 2016. This organization provides resources and tools to help startups succeed.12 Tragically, Jerry Brand passed away in January 2022, but his legacy continues through Zupa and its ongoing projects led by his son Ollie Brand, who has taken over as CEO.2
