Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate, a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation from Norman, OK, is celebrated for his contributions in infusing classical music with American Indian nationalism.
Tate, an accomplished composer, has received praise for his works including the bassoon concerto, Ghost of the White Deer, performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Standing Bear: A Ponca Indian Cantata.
His music has been featured on the HBO series Westworld and performed by prestigious orchestras and ensembles such as the National Symphony Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony.
