Jeremy Smith

Jeremy Smith is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Civitech, a public benefit company focused on civic technology infrastructure.12 He is an experienced leader and Army veteran with a diverse background in politics, public service, and civic initiatives.13

Military and Education Background

Jeremy is a West Point graduate and Marshall scholar.23 He served in the United States Army for eight years, primarily as an Engineer officer working on removing IEDs, landmines, and booby traps.2 His military experience also includes serving in Special Operations as a leader in counterterrorism and hostage rescue.2

Professional Experience

After leaving the military, Jeremy became involved in various political and civic initiatives:

1. Voter Protection: He provided operational guidance and planning for several Voter Protection initiatives, helping to recruit, train, and coordinate more than 12,000 attorneys countering voter suppression.2

2. Hillary for America: In 2016, he served as the Director of Voter Assistance in Florida for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.3

3. Register2Vote: Jeremy founded the nonprofit Register2Vote, a free service that helps people register to vote. This initiative identified and supported more than 400,000 new voters from 2018 to 2020.1

4. Civitech: In March 2019, Jeremy founded Civitech, where he currently serves as the CEO.13 Civitech is working on developing civic technology infrastructure to support democratic processes.
