Jennifer Thompson is a highly experienced communications and marketing executive with a global perspective.
Currently working as an independent consultant, Jennifer leads various projects focused on strategic communications, stakeholder analysis, outreach, and crisis management.
During her tenure at Edelman, she held key roles including Executive Vice President for Global Crisis and Risk, Global Client Relationship Manager, and lead for the Chicago Crisis and Risk Practice.
Jennifer has a diverse industry background, having worked with financial services, food and nutrition, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.
Prior to Edelman, she served as Managing Director of International Operations at Oshkosh Corporation, leading global strategic growth and marketing initiatives with a focus on the Asia Pacific region.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer started on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Director, handling defense and appropriations issues for a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
Jennifer holds an MBA in Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and a BA in History and International Studies from Northwestern University.
She is actively involved in the community, serving on the Advisory Board of the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center and being a member of the Emerging Leaders class of 2014 at the Chicago Council on Global affairs.
Jennifer Thompson has a rich cultural experience, having lived in China, Spain, and Japan. In her free time, she enjoys playing the cello, running, and traveling.
