Jen Spencer

Jen Spencer is the Founder and CEO of The Creative Executive, a coaching and consulting firm established in August 2013. Her work primarily focuses on helping creative executives enhance their success and encouraging successful executives to embrace creativity in their leadership styles. Spencer's career began in advertising, where she identified a gap in support for leaders facing unique challenges in fast-paced environments, which led to her founding her first coaching venture, Jen Spencer Coaches, in 2007.12

Spencer employs various frameworks in her coaching practice, including Adult Learning Theory, Neuroscience/Brain-based coaching, and Systems Thinking. These methodologies aim to empower leaders to navigate their careers effectively and foster sustainable success through strategic talent development and engagement.13 She emphasizes the importance of matching the right experts to organizational challenges to maximize potential and achieve long-term success.1

In addition to her role at The Creative Executive, Spencer has been involved in several notable initiatives, including serving as the co-executive producer of TEDxAustin and participating in various speaking engagements at events like SXSW and CreativeMornings.13 She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Women's Studies from Boston College and has accumulated certifications from respected coaching organizations.2

Currently based in Austin, Texas, Spencer continues to lead her team in adapting to the evolving workplace dynamics, particularly following the shift to hybrid work environments due to the pandemic.1
