Jeffrey Abramowitz, J.D., is the Chief Executive Officer of the Petey Greene Program (PGP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities to individuals incarcerated in correctional facilities. He was appointed as CEO in November 2022, succeeding previous leadership in the organization.14
Professional Background: Before joining PGP, Abramowitz held several significant positions in the field of justice and reentry services. He served as the Executive Director of Justice Partnerships and as the Executive Director of Reentry Services for JEVS Human Services. Additionally, he was the Program Director for the Looking Forward Philadelphia Reentry Program and the Director of Workforce Development at the Community Learning Center.123
Abramowitz is actively involved in various boards and committees related to adult education and reentry initiatives. He serves on the Executive Board of the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE), where he is Secretary, and chairs the State Advocates for Adult Education Fellowship Program. His contributions extend to the Pennsylvania Reentry Council, where he chairs the Employment Committee, and he co-chairs the Reentry Committee for the PA Workforce Development Board. He is also the Chair of the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition.14
Expertise and Advocacy: Jeffrey Abramowitz is recognized as a subject matter expert by the U.S. Department of Education and has lectured nationally on topics such as workforce development, adult education, and criminal justice reform. He produces and hosts a weekly radio/television show titled "Looking Forward" on Philly Cam Radio and TV, which focuses on these issues.13
