Jason Swanson
Director, Strategic Foresight at KnowledgeWorks Foundation
Jason Swanson is an academically trained Futurist who currently serves as the Director of Strategic Foresight at KnowledgeWorks Foundation, a position he has held since August 2014.1 Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Swanson specializes in exploring the future of education and learning.1
In his role at KnowledgeWorks, Swanson works with the Policy and Strategic Foresight Team to cultivate thought leadership around the future of learning. His responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering presentations and events for education stakeholders at state, regional, and national levels.
- Writing about the implications of future trends for the education system.

Swanson's career history demonstrates a consistent focus on foresight, strategy, and education. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Futurist, Strategist, and Market Research Analyst at PALCS (Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School) from 2008 to 2014, where he used various foresight and futures methods to research future growth markets and navigate change.1
