Jason McCarthy is the co-founder and CEO of Sandlot Technology Inc., a company he launched in 2020 alongside B.J. Naedele, a former COO of Nike+.34 McCarthy is also the founder and CEO of GORUCK, a global manufacturing and community-building fitness brand he started in 2008.2
Background and Career
Jason McCarthy served as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant "Green Beret" with the US Army 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), deploying to Iraq in 2007 and to Europe and West Africa in 2008.2 After his military service, he founded GORUCK in 2008, starting with a napkin sketch for a rucksack called GR1.1

Under McCarthy's leadership, GORUCK has grown into a $30 million a year business.3 The company focuses on:
- Manufacturing high-quality gear, apparel, and footwear
- Organizing over 1,000 rucking events per year globally
- Building a community of over 350 community-led Ruck Clubs worldwide
Sandlot Technology Inc.
In 2020, McCarthy co-founded Sandlot Technology Inc. with the mission to unite and democratize fitness, centered around trainers.3 The company developed the Sandlot App, which aims to empower trainers and community leaders to organize fitness activities by connecting them directly with participants.2
