Jason Dispenza

Jason Dispenza is the Chairman and Founder of Building Change, a nonprofit organization focused on improving energy efficiency and housing conditions for low- to moderate-income families in Maryland. He has been in this role since May 2014, leading initiatives that connect communities with funding for vital home improvements, thereby enhancing quality of life and contributing to energy conservation goals.12

Dispenza has a background as an innovative energy efficiency contractor and tech entrepreneur, having founded EDGE Energy, where he serves as CEO. Under his leadership, EDGE Energy has received multiple accolades for its contributions to energy efficiency, including recognition as the ENERGY STAR Home Performance "Contractor of the Year" for five consecutive years from 2018 to 2023.23 He is also involved with EnLedger, a company he co-founded that focuses on integrating technology solutions within the energy sector.24

His educational credentials include a double major in Biological Chemistry and Economics from the University of Virginia, along with certifications as a HERS Energy Rater and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).2 Dispenza is committed to promoting sustainable practices and advocating for data sovereignty within the energy sector, aligning with his vision for a more equitable and environmentally responsible future.14
