Jasmine Velazquez

Jasmine Velazquez, a highly experienced educator and former legislative assistant, has an impressive background in teaching, communications, and media studies. Velazquez holds a Masters of Science in Teaching, Childhood Education from Pace University and a Bachelors of Arts in Communications and Media Studies from Fordham University. She has made a significant impact in education by serving as a Lead Teacher at HYDE LEADERSHIP CHARTER SCHOOL-BROOKLYN and a Learning Specialist at Promise Academy Charter School. She also worked as a Special Education Educator for the NYC Department of Education, successfully helping students with disabilities. Velazquez began her career in teaching as a 2008 Corps Member at Teach for America and has since contributed to a more inclusive education system.
