Jasmeer Virdee
Jasmeer Virdee is a trade economist and strategist with extensive experience in international trade, particularly in the field of inclusive trade development. With a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Oxford and a degree in Physics from Imperial College London, Jasmeer brings a unique combination of skills to her work. She has authored or co-authored over a dozen UN publications covering topics such as small and medium-sized enterprise competitiveness, export and investment development, quality management, trade agreements, value chains, and gender and youth empowerment. Furthermore, Jasmeer possesses strong project management and qualitative skills that enable her to facilitate the design of national export strategies. As a former intern at the Division of Economic Research and Statistics at the World Trade Organization, Jasmeer has a strong understanding of the issues constraining exports and investments in developing countries. At Research and Strategies for Exports at the International Trade Centre, Jasmeer serves as a trade economist and strategist, while formerly, she served as a trade specialist and international consultant at the same organization.
